Vickie Decker began working at the Foundation in April of 2015 as a temporary employee but was later hired on permanently as General Clerk. She has 34 years of teaching experience and a B.A. in English Education.
She began her career teaching middle school language arts in the Kansas City area. Four years later, they moved to Detroit, Michigan, where she continued her teaching career while her husband Chet served as an associate pastor. While teaching and raising a family, Vickie earned her M.A. in Teaching Language Arts and Reading at Oakland University in Rochester Hills, Michigan. She retired from teaching in 2012. A few years later, after thirty-six years in Michigan, they moved back to the Kansas City area where Vickie took her current position at the Foundation.
Vickie and Chet have three grown children, Stefanie, Brett, and Tyler, all three Olivet Nazarene University graduates. Their “fourth” child is Katie, Brett’s wife of two years. An avid Detroit Tigers and Ohio State Buckeyes fan, Vickie enjoys watching and attending sporting events whenever possible. Aside from that, she enjoys reading and is involved in the music program of her local church.
